Peugeot 504 Break Riviera, 1971, by Pininfarina. This was the week of the London Concours which takes place in my street. This year there was a French theme and I thrilled to see this shooting break concept that was first presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1971. A long-roof version of the Pininfarina-designed 504 Coupé, 3 examples were made by Pininfarina. I'm not sure the plaque says 1973. The car's J registration marks it as 1970/71

That Peugeot 504 shooting break has the plates BRV 504 J for Break RiViera. It could also be in reference to the PRV V6 engine although it predates it doesn't it?

The Brake Riviera had a 1971cc fuel injected 4 cylinder engine, the PRV V6 didn't arrive on the scene until 1976

What a difference 46 years makes Alternating views of Peugeot 504 Break Riviera, 1971 by Pininfarina and Peugeot Instinct Concept, 2017. The 504 Break Riviera was a shooting brake concept based on the 504 Coupé, the Instinct is an autonomous prototype which may point to the styling of the next generation 508
